Problem #2: I just don't feel like it. Not feeling motivated is a common problem. You may find it hard to start a workout, or keep one going.
Solution. Try the old "fake it until you make it" cliché. It's oh-so-true when it comes to exercise. Just doing something builds motivation. Another thing that can help is to set an exercise goal. Start small. A five-minute family walk around the block after dinner is a great tradition to start. Or, how about doing 10 push-ups on the bathroom sink after you shower in the morning? It will take less than 60 seconds and get exercise on the brain first thing in the morning. Who knows where it might lead next? You could also try our 20-minute Park Workout - a convenient bit of exercise for mom and fun for the little ones at the same time. Tie a reward to it and give yourself something to look forward to.
Try setting a goal such as logging three workouts per week for the next six weeks. Then, keep track with checkmarks on your calendar and schedule a manicure and pedicure at the end of the six weeks to celebrate!
Sometimes making your exercise goals "official" can make them more real. Start by writing your goals down, then make fitness dates with yourself a few times a week. Penciling in the time will increase the likelihood that you'll follow through.
