Snack Switch: Fruit Smoothie

We know how hard it is to fight cravings, so indulge them, but with healthier yet flavorful choices!

Instead of: Bottled, store-bought fruit smoothie

Have this: Homemade smoothie made with fruit, milk, and yogurt

How it tastes: Creamy, frothy, and ultra satisfying -- like a milkshake!

Why the switch: Store-bought fruit smoothies are usually oversized (even the seemingly small ones) and can run you more than 600 calories! Most also contain only fruit and fruit juice -- and no protein. If you make your smoothie at home you can fill a sensible 12-ounce glass and get the energy-sustaining protein and richness from milk and yogurt, not to mention the calcium and Vitamin D. Plus, you'll save money and lots of calories!
