This tool is for parents to use who have children as young as age 2. "From age 1 to 2, there really is no consensus about how much kids should eat, including whole fruit," explains Elizabeth Ward, MS, RD, a member of the Kaboose.com advisory board. Parents may serve their young toddler a total of 1 cup of fruit during the day, "but that is not etched in stone," she says. "Balance with other food groups is what really matters. For example, some kids go overboard with fruit, because it's sweet, and they don't eat enough protein or drink enough milk."
